For those who became engaged over the holidays or any time, Catholics must contact a priest for a marriage interview as soon as possible, preferably at least one year in advance of the proposed marriage. Due to diocesan policy, no date can be give for marriage in the Church until this interview has taken place. If there is a prior marriage for either of the parties in the current engagement, no date can be set until the bishop's office is contacted.
